At times, Sun will ask its clients to provide us with your personal contact information for the use of designing and targeting promotional and informational mailings, resources, and for assistance in evaluating our software and services. We will use this information to help customize our customers’ product and service experience. The clients will be prompted to supply Sun with this information when signing up to use Sun’s services, to purchase hardware from Sun, or when initiating communication though the site. Clients may opt-out of receiving future mailings at any time (see the Opt-Out section below).
The personal information collected will be solely used to provide the service(s), defray the costs of the service(s) or carry out the transaction(s) clients have requested or authorized. Sun may disclose or report personal information in limited circumstances where Sun believes, in good faith, that disclosure is required under State and Federal Law. For example, Sun may be required to disclose personal information to cooperate with regulators or law enforcement authorities, to comply with a legal process such as court order, subpoena, search warrant, or law enforcement request.
ACCESS YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
Clients can review and edit said personal information and contact preferences by visiting the “My Account” page on the Sun platform. Clients will need to log into the client’s account and visit the account information section.
SECURITY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
Sun uses reasonable precautions to keep user information disclosed to us secure. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the appropriate use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect. Additionally, when we transmit sensitive personal information (such as a credit card number) over the Internet, we protect it through the use of PayPal payment center.
LOST OR STOLEN INFORMATION
Clients must notify Sun promptly if the clients’ user name or password is lost, stolen or used without permission. Upon notice, Sun will cancel that user name or password and update SUN’s records accordingly.
The Sun website may place Cookies on your computer. A cookie is a text file that is placed on the clients’ hard disk by our web server. Cookies are uniquely generated and assigned to the client, and can only be read by a web server in the same domain that set the cookie on your computer. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to the clients’ computer.
Clients have the ability to control any website’s ability to place Cookies on a computer through the computer’s web browser (i.e. Netscape or Internet Explorer) privacy settings. Consult the documentation or help files for your web browser for instructions on setting Cookie preferences.
Sun makes extensive use of web logging to understand the usage of Sun’s services, diagnose problems and identify future enhancements to Sun’s products and services. In addition to logging the pages viewed, and features used, Sun’s logs will also collect referring IP addresses or /domain names of site visitors. This information is used in the reporting and analysis of Sun’s website some of which will be shared, when appropriate and at Sun’s discretion with Sun’s partners and clients.
Sun may provide you with chat features, instant messaging, message boards, and/or news groups. Please remember that any information that clients may disclose in the public areas will become public information, and any information that is disclosed in a private forum will become accessible to all other members of that forum. Sun may not intend to monitor, moderate, and screen or otherwise be responsible for the contents of postings. Clients should exercise caution when deciding to disclose personal information in public or private forums.
Sun’s Sites may provide links to third-party websites, such as those of Sun’s business partners and online advertisers. While on these sites, Sun or its partners may collect information about clients. Because Sun does not control the information policies or practices of these third parties, clients should review their privacy policies to learn more about how said third-party sites collect and use personally identifiable information.
Sun provides clients with the opportunity to opt-out of receiving communication from both Sun’s partners and Sun when Sun requests information from our clients. Clients may send a written request to remove said information from Sun’s database, stop future communication, limit the use of clients’ information, or to review and modify information that clients may have previously provided.
